A Trip to a Butterfly Garden

My class visited a butterfly garden last Thursday. The garden was a big glass house filled with colorful flowers and hundreds of butterflies. I saw blue morpho butterflies with shiny wings, orange monarchs, and small white cabbage butterflies. A guide told us that butterflies taste with their feet. I held out my hand, and a small yellow butterfly landed on it. It stayed for a few seconds before flying away. I took many photos, but I was careful not to touch the butterflies’ wings—they are very delicate. We watched a video about how caterpillars turn into butterflies. It was amazing to see the life cycle. I bought a small butterfly keychain as a souvenir. The trip was both fun and educational. I learned that butterflies are beautiful creatures that need our protection.
